Terminal ​

Install Homebrew first.

Install Composer ​

Install GitHub CLI ​

brew install gh

Shell Tools ​

brew install bat eza neovim zoxide

Oh My Zsh ​

Run the Oh My Zsh installer:

The installer backs up an existing ~/.zshrc to ~/.zshrc.pre-oh-my-zsh; merge any settings you want to keep.

Plugins ​

Clone autosuggestions and syntax highlighting once:

Shell Configuration ​

Edit the existing theme and plugin settings in ~/.zshrc, before source "$ZSH/oh-my-zsh.sh". Keep any other plugins you use; syntax highlighting must be last.

zsh

plugins=(git zsh-autosuggestions zsh-syntax-highlighting)

Add zoxide initialization at the end of ~/.zshrc, after Oh My Zsh loads:

eval "$(zoxide init zsh)"

Open a new terminal window to apply the changes.

Codex CLI ​

curl -fsSL https://chatgpt.com/codex/install.sh | sh

Start codex and follow the sign-in prompts. See the Codex documentation.

Language Servers ​

Requires Node.js 22.22.2+ (for typescript-language-server 6) and npm on PATH. These are standalone servers for LSP clients, separate from VS Code extensions.

The Tailwind package is @tailwindcss/language-server; its executable is tailwindcss-language-server. The TypeScript language server also needs TypeScript installed.
